Humorous Speech Contest Night - 23 September 2013
Our competition night had a full audience who came to listen to our speakers tickle their funny bones during the Humorous Speech Contest.
Four of our club members competed in the contest, which was chaired by Chris Lomatschinsky. The winner was Alex Masri, who spoke about frightening himself before a trip to Canada by reading a book about protecting yourself from bear attacks!
The competition then moved on to the Table Topics Contest. Seven intrepid contestants attempted to answer the question posed by contest chair Michael Smith:
“It is said that 95% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
What do you think about statistics?”
The winnerof the contest was Steve Maguire.
